located in a small town called pisa, there is a fairly unremarkable tower. no one would have ever heard about it, if the architects who built it didn't suck. because they did, it's one of the most famous landmarks in the western-world, and the only reason to visit this particular small town. proof positive that 8° can make you famous

"in Roman legend, founder of Rome. He and his twin, Remus, were
sons of Mars and Rhea Silvia, daughter of Numitor, king of Alba Longa. Amulius,
usurper of Numitor's throne, threw them in the Tiber, but they floated ashore.
They were suckled by a she-wolf and reared by a shepherd. When grown, they slew
Amulius and made Numitor king. They then founded a city (traditionally 753 BC)
on the spot where they were rescued from the Tiber. They later quarreled, and
Romulus killed Remus. Romulus populated Rome with fugitives from other countries
and gave them wives abducted from the Sabine tribe. After a long reign Romulus
vanished in a thunderstorm; he was thereafter worshiped as the god Quirinus."
