memphis

step pyramid of zoser, north saqqara
the oldest pyramid. it was originally
built as one level for a pharaoh's tomb, his son came along and built his tomb
on top his dad's (everyone say "ahhhhh"), his son came by and emulated his
father, adding another step. thus an idea was born.
