Orthodox churches are known for their world class icons.  Here, Jesus is pictured with his mother on a rustic wooden plaque available for purchase in the monastery's gift shop in the bottom of the brick watch tower.

 		The outer gates of the Monastery are shut tight at night, so reserve a room inside the Monastery to be rewarded by sights like this.  The naked eye can't see the stars move like this time-elapsed picture but you will see stars...  More stars than you've seen in a long time.
