situated near the algate east tube stop, brick lane (AKA BanglaTown) is well known for great curry houses.
It's less well known for its stencil graffiti. both are brilliant.
| a dialogue with my muse: the shooter: stencil graffiti is an interesting twist on graffiti because by definition a stencil structures and templates ones ideas. Typically graffiti is anything but structured, and done by people who are very unstructured. the muse: although one could argue that the spontaneity, although lacking in form, is achieved in their random placement and imperfect lines (spraying in a hurry--you know those stencils are never exact--the edges always bleed a little) |
